Kuressaare has since the 19th century been a cosy health resort in North-Europe where the first spa in Estonia was established back in 1824. Ever since, ladies and gentlemen from Germany, Russia, Finland, Sweden etc. have come to Kuressaare for healthy mud baths.
Today, there are nine spa hotels of different profiles in Saaremaa, seven of them are located in Kuressaare, one in Mändjala village and one on Muhu island. All of them offer treatments and wellness services all the year round. A special event, called Spaaremaa WELLFEST – the Good Life Festival takes place during the first week of March and the offers range from good local food to sports events. Welcome to S(p)aaremaa – life in Saaremaa is just like in a nice spa!
